The modern Korean wedding ceremonies

Today, many Korean couples will initially have a more 'Westernized' ceremony with tuxedo attire and white wedding dress, then proceed with a smaller-scale, traditional wedding after the main ceremony. Certainly, Practices before weddings, various exchanges are crucial to the Korean wedding. For example the groom buys or rents the house and the bried-to-be the hone-soo. Common hone-soo items include a TV, a fridge and a washing machine. There's also ye-mool, which are gifts exchanged between the couple. Common ye-mool items are rings, jewelry, or his and-her watches. Another features is independent wedding halls are able to focus strictly on weddings, and even cater to specific themes. Other features included in the wedding feast and reception. The reception will be a buffet, with beef and chicken as the main courses, and plenty of side dishes. For instance, bulgogi (marinated barbecue beef strips), a variety of kimchi (pickled cabbage). The meal is bap (sticky rice). Soup will be offered, doenjang guk (bean paste soup). Steamed rice cakes (tteok) and A large variety of fruits, will be offered for dessert. A spoon and chopsticks are used for eating. In conclusion, Marriage for South Koreans is similar to that of their Western counterparts, but has unique features of its own. .
